Wayfarers 1,2 and 3...

Walkerbay 5 takes the lead

Hilary Lister controlling both steering and sails on the Tracer through the straws of the sip and puff mechanism.

We have a fleet of twelve sailing dinghies to suit a range of abilities and needs, plus two Avon RIBs (rigid inflatable boats). These RIBs are our Safety Boats and they constantly patrol the fleet while a sailing session is in progress to make sure all is well.

Most people start with a sail in one of our three Wayfarers, or our new eighteen feet long Viva. These boats are skippered by one of our experienced sailors so if you wish you can simply sit back and enjoy the ride. As your confidence grows, you might like to take control of the sheets (the ropes that control the sails) or even try your hand at the helm (steering).

If you already have some knowledge of sailing, you might like to have some one-to-one tuition in our GP14 dinghy (a bit smaller than the Wayfarers, but still very stable) or take out one of our five Walkerbay dinghies. These ten-foot dinghies have an inflatable collar which makes them virtually capsize-proof. We've been trying for three years and have yet to tip one over!

New this year is a Tracer 17-foot keel boat that we have kitted out with electronic winches and can be fully operated by either a sip and puff or joystick control system.

We also have a Challenger trimaran which can be sailed single-handed.
